Times of Change!

The news is dark indeed, grim even. Here from the Wall Street Journal the "vote" of people with money betting on the future and seeing the welfare state election results from the Wall Street Journal of 7 November 2008:

Unable to fight off the gloom about the economy, stock prices slid for a second straight day, producing the biggest two-day percentage drop since Oct. 19-20, 1987.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled 443.48 points, or 4.9%, to 8695.79. The two-day loss since the rally on Election Day is 929.49 points, equal to 9.7% -- which is the biggest in point terms in the 112-year history of the Dow.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. job losses accelerated the last two months, pushing the unemployment rate to a 14-year high in October, a government report showed, suggesting the economic downturn has taken a turn for the worse toward a deep recession.

The election was obviously a victory for Mr. Obama, but more so a victory for the millions of voters who "wanted change" and didn't want any repeat or return to the rule by the grand OLD party.

The voters got what they wanted with President Obama and slowly they will learn what it is that they really got. This digest is MY prediction of what you will get along with those who voted for him.

Russia, just as Biden predicted, has already started to stir the pot:

'Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama. . . . I guarantee you it's gonna happen." Joe Biden's famous campaign gaffe-as-prophecy was off by six months. How Mr. Obama responds to the Kremlin's provocation this week will offer an important glimpse of his Administration's approach to foreign policy.

In the yearly state of the nation address on Wednesday [November 5, 2008], President Dmitry Medvedev blamed the Georgia war, Russia's tanking markets and declining bilateral relations on a "selfish" and "mistaken, egotistical and sometimes simply dangerous" America. Presumably for effect, the national address was moved from last month to Wednesday, and started and ended with anti-U.S. tirades.

The Russian President also announced plans to deploy missiles in the Kaliningrad enclave between NATO members Poland and Lithuania unless America drops plans to deploy missile defenses in Europe. He added that Russia would jam U.S. radar. This would be an act of war if an Iranian missile, the intended target of the defenses, slipped through the net and hit America or its allies. How will President Obama handle this unexpectedly hostile rant from Russia?

How about the nuclear submarine "Mistake" on Sunday, November 9th? What is the truth behind that and what will Obama's response to that be? What has Mr. Obama's new Chief of Staff already said about what to expect?

My predictions are NOT on specific actions by President Obama, but that all those actions will result in changes of the wildest possible range of unpredictability.
